The dataset represents the waste management activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. Recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. Not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in the Tacheng region of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region are as follows: food waste 76%, paper 2.4%, rubber 5.4%, textiles (fibers) 4.2%, wood/bamboo 2.5%, ash/soil 0%, brick/tile/ceramics 6.4%, glass 2.4%, metals 0.8%, other 0%. Moisture content is 47%, and higher calorific value of 4148 kcal/kg. 64 kJ/kg, lower calorific value 2183.4 kJ/kg. The carbon fraction of initial waste, i.e., from biological sources, is 60.4%. The ratio of unoxidized and recoverable metals in large quantities in the waste (excluding very small or very thin parts) is: iron: 60.03%; aluminum: 17.81%; copper: 72.83%. Overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. The degradability of the waste fractions: paper: 27%; mixed cardboard: 32%. 4% plastic: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as drink cartons: 18%; composite goods, like diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization generate 8.68E-05 kWh of electricity and 3.12E-01 MJ of useful heat.
