The dataset represents the waste treatment activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, cardboard. The characteristics of urban solid waste in Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, are as follows: 76% food waste, 2.4% paper, 5.4% rubber, 4.2% textiles (fibers), 2.5% wood and bamboo, 0% ash and soil, 6.4% bricks, tiles and ceramics, 2.4% glass, 0.8% metals, 0% others. It has a moisture content of 47% and higher calorific value of 4148. 64 kJ/kg, lower calorific value 2183.4 kJ/kg. The carbon share from the initial waste, i.e., 60.4% biogenic. The proportion of unoxidized and recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin components): iron: 60.03%; aluminum: 17.81%; copper: 72.83%. Overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. Degradability of components composing the waste: paper: 27%; mixed cardboard: 32%. 4% plastic: 1%, laminated materials: 18%, laminated packaging, such as drink cartons: 18%, composite goods, like diapers: 18%, glass: 0%, textiles: 12%, minerals: 0%, natural products: 27%, compostable materials: 27%, inert metals: 10%, volatile metals: 0%, batteries: 0%, electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization generate 8.68E-05 kWh of electricity and 3.12E-01 MJ of useful heat.
