Coke is an important metallurgical raw material, typically produced by the high-temperature dry distillation of coal. It is a high-carbon solid fuel, primarily used in blast furnace iron-making processes within the metallurgical industry. The main component of coke is fixed carbon, whose content is usually over 85%, and it also contains volatile matter and ash. Inside the blast furnace, coke reacts with iron ore at high temperatures, leading to a series of complex physical and chemical changes, ultimately reducing the iron oxide in the iron ore to metallic iron.
