The dataset represents the waste treatment activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use for this dataset: for the average municipal/public waste mixture. It is not suitable to represent any single particular waste, such as plastics, paper, cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province are as follows: food waste 64.5%, paper 6.7%, rubber 10.1%, textile (fiber) 1.2%, wood and bamboo 0.1%, ash and soil 0%, brick, tile and ceramics 15.1%, glass 2%, metal 0.3%, and other 1.36%. Moisture content is 55.81%, higher calorific value of 5161. 91 kJ/kg, lower calorific value 3249.72 kJ/kg. The carbon fraction of the initial waste, that is, from biogenic sources, is 60.4%. The proportion of unoxidized and largely recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin components): Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. The overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. The degradability of the waste components: Paper: 27%; Mixed cardboard: 32% 4% plastic: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as drink cartons: 18%; composite products, like diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization produces 1.58E-04 kWh of electricity and 5.69E-01 MJ of useful heat.
