The dataset represents the waste management activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset: for average Municipal/Public waste mixture. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste such as plastics, paper, cardboard. The characteristics of urban solid waste in Yili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, are as follows: food waste 76%, paper 2.4%, rubber 5.4%, textile (fiber) 4.2%, wood/bamboo 2.5%, ash and soil 0%, brick, tile, and ceramics 6.4%, glass 2.4%, metal 0.8%, other 0%. Moisture content is 47%, and the higher calorific value of 4148. 64 kJ/kg, lower calorific value 2183.4 kJ/kg. The carbon fraction of initial waste, that is, the biogenic portion is 60.4%. The proportion of unoxidized and largely recoverable metals in the waste (excluding extremely small or very thin parts): iron: 60.03%; aluminum: 17.81%; copper: 72.83%. The overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. The degradability of components making up the waste: paper: 27%; mixed cardboard: 32% 4% plastic: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as beverage cartons: 18%; composite goods, like diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization produce 8.68E-05 kWh of electricity and 3.12E-01 MJ of useful heat.
