The dataset represents the waste treatment activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in sanitary landfills. The recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, or cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Alar city, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region are as follows: food waste 76%, paper 2.4%, rubber 5.4%, textiles (fibers) 4.2%, wood/bamboo 2.5%, ash/soil 0%, brick/tile/ceramics 6.4%, glass 2.4%, metal 0.8%, and others 0%. It has a moisture content of 47% and higher heating value of 4148. 64 kJ/kg, lower calorific value 2183.4 kJ/kg. The carbon share from biomass in the initial waste is 60.4%. The proportion of non-oxidized and substantially recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin components): Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. Overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%.
