The dataset represents the waste treatment activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, or cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Wujiaqu city, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, are as follows: food waste 76%, paper 2.4%, rubber 5.4%, textiles (fibers) 4.2%, wood/bamboo 2.5%, ash/soil 0%, bricks/tiles/ceramics 6.4%, glass 2.4%, metals 0.8%, and other 0%. It has a moisture content of 47% and higher heating value of 4148. 64 kJ/kg, lower calorific value 2183.4 kJ/kg. The carbon fraction of the initial waste, that is, from biomass, is 60.4%. The proportion of unoxidized and largely recoverable metals in the waste (excluding extremely small or very thin parts): Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. Overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. The degradability of components in the waste: Paper: 27%; Mixed cardboard: 32%. 4% plastic: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as beverage cartons: 18%; composite products, like diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization produced 8.68E-05 kWh of electricity and 3.12E-01 MJ of useful heat.
