The dataset represents the waste management activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste type, such as plastics, paper, cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in the Haixi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, are as follows: food waste 47.78%, paper 6.85%, rubber 9.41%, textile (fiber) 2.72%, wood and bamboo 1.75%, ash and soil 0%, brick, tile, and ceramics 27.22%, glass 2.89%, metals 1.21%, and others 0.17%. Moisture content 55. 81%, Higher Heating Value (HHV) 5367.35 kJ/kg, Lower Heating Value (LHV) 3624.71 kJ/kg. The initial carbon fraction in the waste, i.e., from biogenic sources, is 60.4%. The unoxidized and largely recoverable metal content in the waste (excluding very small or very thin components): Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. The overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. Degradability of the waste fractions: Paper: 27%; Mixed cardboard: 32% 4% plastics: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as drink cartons: 18%; composite products, such as diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization generate 6.86E-05 kWh of electricity and 2.47E-01 MJ of useful heat.
