The dataset represents the waste management activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, or cardboard. The characteristics of the municipal solid waste of the Third Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps are as follows: food waste 76%, paper 2.4%, rubber 5.4%, textiles (fibers) 4.2%, wood/bamboo 2.5%, ash-soil 0%, bricks-tiles-ceramics 6.4%, glass 2.4%, metals 0%. 8%, and other categories 0%. Moisture content 47%, higher heating value 4148.64 kJ/kg, lower heating value 2183.4 kJ/kg. The carbon fraction of the initial waste, i.e., from biomass is 60.4%. The unoxidized and largely recoverable metal proportions in the waste (excluding extremely small or thin components) are: Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. The overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. The degradability of the waste fractions: Paper: 27%; Mixed cardboard: 32%. 4% plastics: 1%; laminates: 18%; laminate packaging, such as drink cartons: 18%; composite goods, such as diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization generated 8.68E-05 kWh of electricity and 3.12E-01 MJ of useful heat.
