The dataset represents the waste management activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastic, paper, cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Huangshi city, Hubei province, are as follows: food waste 55.3%, paper 1.5%, rubber 4.5%, textile (fiber) 0%, wood/bamboo 8.3%, ash and soil 0%, brick and tile ceramics 27.3%, glass 2%, metal 1.1%, others 0%. Moisture content is 53.5%, and higher calorific value of 4550. 7 kJ/kg, lower heating value 2783.55 kJ/kg. The carbon share in the initial waste, that is, of biogenic origin, is 60.4%. The ratio of unoxidized and largely recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin parts): iron: 60.03%; aluminum: 17.81%; copper: 72.83%. Overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. Degradability of the waste fraction: paper: 27%; mixed cardboard: 32. 4% plastic: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as drink cartons: 18%; composite products, such as diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization generate 1.29E-04 kWh of electricity and 4.63E-01 MJ of useful heat.
