The dataset represents the waste treatment activity of “municipal solid waste” in sanitary landfills. The recommended use of this dataset: for the average municipal/public waste mixture. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Yichun City, Jiangxi Province are as follows: 52.5% kitchen waste, 5.5% paper, 6% rubber, 3% textile (fiber), 3% wood and bamboo, 0% ash and soil, 20.5% brick, tile and ceramics, 5.5% glass, 3% metal, and 1.36% other. It has a moisture content of 55.81% and higher heating value of 4526. 97 kJ/kg, lower calorific value 2820.89 kJ/kg. The carbon share from initial wastes, i.e., 60.4% biogenic. Metal proportion in the waste that remains unoxidized and can be largely recovered (excluding extremely small or extremely thin components): iron: 60.03%; aluminum: 17.81%; copper: 72.83%. Overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%.
