The dataset represents the waste management activities of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, or cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Shiyan City, Hubei Province, are as follows: kitchen waste 55.3%, paper 1.5%, rubber 4.5%, textiles (fibers) 0%, wood/bamboo 8.3%, ash/soil 0%, bricks/tiles/ceramics 27.3%, glass 2%, metals 1.1%, and others 0%. Moisture content is 53.5%, and higher calorific value of 4550. 7 kJ/kg, lower heating value 2783.55 kJ/kg. The carbon share from initial waste, that is, from biological origin is 60.4%. The proportion of unoxidized and recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin parts): Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. Overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%.
