The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Lingao County, Hainan Province, are as follows: food waste 58.42%, paper 6.44%, rubber 11.93%, textiles (fibers) 0.89%, wood and bamboo 1.6%, ash and soil 0%, bricks, tiles, and ceramics 12.92%, glass 0.53%, metals 0.68%, and other types 6.47%. Moisture content is 55% 81%, higher heating value 5556.5 kJ/kg, lower heating value 3706.33 kJ/kg. The carbon share from initial waste, that is, from biogenic sources 60.4%. The proportion of unoxidized and largely recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin components): Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. Overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%.
