The dataset represents the waste management activities of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. Recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Hancheng City, Shaanxi Province, are as follows: kitchen waste 38.6%, paper 9.3%, rubber 10.1%, textiles (fibers) 1.4%, wood/bamboo 7.4%, ash and soil 0%, bricks, tiles, and ceramics 23.3%, glass 6.5%, metals 3.4%, others 0%. Moisture content is 46.1%, higher calorific value is 5445. 04 kJ/kg, lower calorific value 3802.42 kJ/kg. The initial share of carbon in the waste, that is, of biogenic origin, is 60.4%. The percentage of unoxidized and largely recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin parts): iron: 60.03%; aluminum: 17.81%; copper: 72.83%. Overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. The degradability of the waste components: paper: 27%; mixed cardboard: 32%. 4% plastic: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as drink cartons: 18%; composite products, such as diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization generated 1.48E-04 kWh of electricity and 5.35E-01 MJ of useful heat.
