The dataset represents the waste disposal activities of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, cardboard. The characteristics of urban solid waste in Chengdu city, Sichuan province are as follows: food waste 47.06%, paper 15.76%, rubber 14.98%, textile (fiber) 1.72%, wood and bamboo 0%, ash and soil 6.45%, bricks tiles and ceramics 0.97%, glass 0.73%, metal 1.01%, others 11.32%. Moisture content 51% 79%, higher heating value 6603.02 kJ/kg, lower heating value 4802.8 kJ/kg. The carbon fraction of the initial waste, that is, from biological sources is 60.4%. The proportion of unoxidized and largely recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin components): iron: 60.03%; aluminum: 17.81%; copper: 72.83%. Overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. The degradability of the waste fraction: paper: 27%; mixed cardboard: 32% 4% plastics: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as beverage cartons: 18%; composite goods, such as diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization produces 1.81E-04 kWh of electricity and 6.53E-01 MJ of useful heat.
