The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Baisha Li Autonomous County, Hainan Province are as follows: food waste 58.42%, paper 6.44%, rubber 11.93%, textiles (fibers) 0.89%, wood/bamboo 1.6%, ash soil 0%, brick/tile/ceramics 12.92%, glass 0.53%, metals 0.68%, and other materials 6.47%. It has a moisture content of 55%. 81%, higher heating value 5556.5 kJ/kg, lower heating value 3706.33 kJ/kg. The carbon share originating from biological sources in the initial waste is 60.4%. The proportion of unoxidized and largely recyclable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin components): Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. General degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%.
