This is a market dataset, representing the consumption market of the region. The dataset includes transport from the gate to the point of consumption, and transport services are calculated based on the transport situation of this product in the region. Metallurgical grade silica can be used as raw material for the smelting of ferroalloys such silicon metal, in chemical industry for the preparation of silicon compounds and silicates, and also as filler for sulfuric acid towers. The dataset encompasses the entire process of silica mining, crushing, and screening, along with the fuel consumed in internal transportation. It also takes into account tire wear, which is linearly extrapolated from the average tire wear at a typical open-pit coal mine in China (annual production of 34 million tons of raw coal). Production equipment, infrastructure such as factory construction are not included within the boundary of the dataset, nor does it include wastewater. This is because in the ore mining process, only dust suppression water is used, where water is not polluted and seeps directly, so wastewater is negligible; the data inventory is formed by merging data from multiple sources. Some data has been corrected and improved with reference to industry statistics, standards, emission factor manuals, etc.; the open-pit mining and selection process of silica includes procedures such as blasting, mechanical excavation, transportation, crushing and screening, and drying.
