Description

The dataset represents the average \"municipal solid waste, municipal incineration, combined heat and power\" treatment situation in the Central China region, which includes Henan, Hubei, and Hunan. Waste processing activities are based on an average urban/municipal waste mixture and are not suitable for single specific waste types such as plastics, paper, cardboard, etc. If your waste is a specific waste mixture, please inventory the corresponding waste separately. For each kg of this waste, 0.205kg of slag and 0. The fly ash and slag, at 05kg, are landfilled after the recovery of precious metals. The fly ash is solidified with cement at a ratio of 1:1. By combining the thermal efficiency of the waste heat power generation process and direct heat supply process, 15% of the heat generated during the waste incineration is used for power generation, and 56% is used for direct heating. This dataset is calculated based on the situation in the area according to the Urban and Rural Development Statistics Yearbook - Provincial Urban Sanitation.

Activity Description

After entering the incineration plant, waste is first stacked and stored. During this process, a certain amount of leachate is produced due to the high moisture content of the waste. Subsequently, the stored waste is fed into the incinerator for incineration. Flue gas generated during the incineration process is treated by flue gas purification equipment. The generated solid waste includes bottom ash and fly ash, with bottom ash deposited at the bottom of the incinerator and fly ash being emitted along with flue gas. Heat from incineration is used for power generation or heating, achieving resource utilization. Electric power generated from recovered heat can be sold or used for internal recycling within the incineration plant.

Process Description

'Municipal solid waste' primarily originates from a wide range of activities across many different sectors. 'Municipal solid waste' consists of the following fractions: food waste, paper, rubber, textiles (fibers), bamboo and wood, ash and soil, bricks and ceramics, glass, metals, and potentially other fractions. These by-products (recyclable or waste) are produced by common transformation activities, thus it's plausible to model the waste output for similar components. In the HiQ database, the handling methods for these by-products include: deposition - sanitary landfill, municipal incineration. Additionally, these by-products are also utilized in the following processes: clinker production.
