This dataset describes the entire transport lifecycle for completing 1t·km freight service using natural gas pipelines, with energy usage and operational emissions data based on Chinese statistical data. This dataset represents the natural gas pipeline providing 1t of transportation service over 1 kilometer. The transport dataset refers to the entire transport lifecycle, i.e., the use of pipelines, energy consumption driving the pipelines, and operational emissions. The pipeline operates using electricity, with the integrated energy consumption driving the pipeline referring to national standards related to energy consumption in long-distance natural gas pipeline systems and literature adopting models simulating the compressor functions of long-distance natural gas pipelines. The use of pipelines is reasonably extrapolated from relevant information on pipeline usage in Europe.
