The dataset represents the waste management activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastic, paper, cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Xilin Gol League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, are as follows: food waste 36.11%, paper 19.41%, rubber 14.35%, textile (fibers) 5.73%, wood and bamboo 3.87%, ash and soil 10.56%, bricks, tiles, and ceramics 2.11%, glass 2.89%, metal 2.64%, and other 2. 35% moisture content, Higher Heating Value (HHV) of 7088.35 kJ/kg, Lower Heating Value (LHV) of 5320.43 kJ/kg. The carbon fraction of initial waste, i.e., biomass origin is 60.4%. The percentage of non-oxidized and recyclable metals from waste (excluding extremely small or thin parts): Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. The total degradation rate of waste over 100 years is 18.73%. The degradability of the fractions composing the waste: Paper: 27%; Mixed Cardboard: 32%. 4% plastic; 1% laminates; 18% laminate packaging, such as beverage cartons; 18% composite products, such as diapers; 0% glass; 12% textiles; 0% minerals; 27% natural products; 27% compostable materials; 10% inert metals; 0% volatile metals; 0% batteries; 0% electronics; landfill gas capture and utilization produced 9.39E-05 kWh of electricity and 3.38E-01 MJ of useful heat.
