The dataset represents the waste management activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, or cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province, are as follows: food waste 38.6%, paper 9.3%, rubber 10.1%, textiles (fiber) 1.4%, wood/bamboo 7.4%, ash/soil 0%, bricks/tiles/ceramics 23.3%, glass 6.5%, metals 3.4%, and others 0%. It has a moisture content of 46.1%, with higher calorific value of 5445. 04 kJ/kg, lower calorific value 3802.42 kJ/kg. The initial waste's carbon share, i.e., 60.4% biogenic carbon. The proportion of unoxidized and largely recoverable metals in the waste (excluding components that are very small or very thin) is as follows: iron: 60.03%; aluminum: 17.81%; copper: 72.83%. The overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years is 18.73%. The degradability of waste fractions is as follows: paper: 27%; mixed cardboard: 32%. 4% plastic: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as drink cartons: 18%; composite products, such as diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization generates 1.48E-04 kWh of electricity and 5.35E-01 MJ of useful heat.
