Guizhou Province is located at the eastern end of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, occupying an important geographical position in southwestern China, with a wealth of underground minerals. The Coal resources here are characterized by wide distribution, large reserves, a complete range of varieties, and deep burial, covering an area of approximately 70,000 square kilometers. Major coalfields in Guizhou Province include: the Liuzhi coalfield, the Panxian coalfield, the Shuicheng coalfield, the Guiyang coalfield, the Zhijin coalfield, the Zunyi coalfield, the Bijie coalfield, the Tongzi coalfield, the Daozhen coalfield, the Fenggang coalfield, the Sinan coalfield, the Xingren coalfield, the Ziyun coalfield, the Huishui coalfield, the Guiding coalfield, the Duyun coalfield, the Libo coalfield, the Kaili coalfield, the Tianzhu coalfield, and the Weining coalfield. The main coalfields primarily mine six types of coal: gas coal, caking coal, coking coal, lean coal, poor coal, and anthracite. The raw coal quality is characterized by ash content of 1.9~58.9%, volatile matter of 2.62~48%, total sulfur of 0.05~13.1%, carbon content of 84.16~91.01%, and Qnet, ar net calorific value on an as-received basis of 5298~8659 kcal/kg.
