The dataset represents the waste treatment activities of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, or cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province are as follows: kitchen waste 52.5%, paper 5.5%, rubber 6%, textiles (fibers) 3%, wood/bamboo 3%, ash soil 0%, bricks/tiles/ceramics 20.5%, glass 5.5%, metals 3%, others 1.36%. Moisture content is 55.81%, higher calorific value of 4526. 97 kJ/kg, lower calorific value 2820.89 kJ/kg. The carbon fraction from the initial waste, that is, biomass origin, is 60.4%. The proportion of unoxidized and recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin parts): iron: 60.03%; aluminum: 17.81%; copper: 72.83%. Overall degradation rate of waste for 100 years: 18.73%. The degradability of the waste fraction: paper: 27%; mixed cardboard: 32% 4% plastic: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as beverage cartons: 18%; composite goods, such as diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization generates 1.50E-04 kWh of electricity and 5.40E-01 MJ of useful heat.
