The dataset represents the waste management activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastic, paper, cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province are as follows: food waste 51.85%, paper 6.16%, rubber 26.21%, textile (fiber) 9.26%, wood/bamboo 3.73%, ash and soil 0%, brick, tile, and ceramics 0%, glass 1.53%, metal 1.25%, and others 0%. The moisture content is 55%. 21%, higher heating value 8534.26 kJ/kg, lower heating value 6526.49 kJ/kg. The carbon share from the initial waste, i.e., 60.4% from biogenic sources. Proportion of unoxidized and largely recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin components): iron: 60.03%; aluminum: 17.81%; copper: 72.83%. Total degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. Degradability of components that make up the waste: paper: 27%; mixed cardboard: 32%. 4% plastic: 1%; laminates: 18%; laminated packaging, such as beverage cartons: 18%; composite products, such as diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization generate 2.37E-04 kWh of electricity and 8.52E-01 MJ of useful heat.
