The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province are as follows: kitchen waste 52.5%, paper 5.5%, rubber 6%, textile (fiber) 3%, wood and bamboo 3%, ash and soil 0%, bricks, tiles, and ceramics 20.5%, glass 5.5%, metals 3%, other 1.36%. Moisture content is 55.81%, and higher calorific value of 4526. 97 kJ/kg, lower calorific value 2820.89 kJ/kg. The carbon share from initial waste, that is, from biological sources is 60.4%. The proportion of unoxidized and substantially recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin components): Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. Total degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%.
