The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Yangquan City, Shanxi Province are as follows: kitchen waste 45.45%, paper 9.97%, rubber 18.24%, textile (fiber) 2.26%, wood and bamboo 1.3%, ash and soil 0%, bricks, tiles, and ceramics 17.81%, glass 2.63%, metal 0.54%, other 0.5%. Moisture content is 55%. 81%, higher heating value 6553.39 kJ/kg, lower heating value 4742.84 kJ/kg. The carbon share from initial waste, i.e., from biogenic sources is 60.4%. The proportion of unoxidized and recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin parts): iron: 60.03%; aluminum: 17.81%; copper: 72.83%. The overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%.
