The dataset represents the waste management activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. Recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, or cardboard. The characteristics of urban solid waste in Sanming city, Fujian province are as follows: kitchen waste 44.76%, paper 13.96%, rubber 25.87%, textiles (fibers) 6.57%, wood and bamboo 3.29%, ash and soil 0%, bricks, tiles, and ceramics 1.44%, glass 1.36%, metal 1.39%, and others 1.37%. Moisture content 56. 51%, higher heating value 8627.63 kJ/kg, lower heating value 6667.68 kJ/kg. The carbon share from the initial waste, i.e., biogenic share 60.4%. The unoxidized and largely recoverable metal content in the waste (excluding very small or very thin parts): Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. Overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%.
