The dataset represents the waste treatment activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. Recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixture. Not suitable for representing any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, or cardboard. The characteristics of urban solid waste in Yangling Demonstration Zone, Shaanxi Province, are as follows: food waste 38.6%, paper 9.3%, rubber 10.1%, textile (fiber) 1.4%, wood and bamboo 7.4%, ash and soil 0%, bricks, tiles, and ceramics 23.3%, glass 6.5%, metal 3.4%, others 0%. Moisture content 46.1%, higher heating value 5445. 04 kJ/kg, lower calorific value 3802.42 kJ/kg. The carbon share from biological origin in the initial waste is 60.4%. The unoxidized and largely recoverable metal proportion in the waste (excluding very small or very thin components): Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. Overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. Degradability of components that compose the waste: Paper: 27%; Mixed cardboard: 32% 4% plastic: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as beverage cartons: 18%; composite products, like diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization generate 1.48E-04 kWh of electricity and 5.35E-01 MJ of useful heat.
