The dataset represents the waste treatment activities of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset is for the average municipal/public waste mixture. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, are as follows: food waste 64.5%, paper 6.7%, rubber 10.1%, textiles (fibers) 1.2%, wood/bamboo 0.1%, ash and soil 0%, bricks, tiles and ceramics 15.1%, glass 2%, metals 0.3%, and other materials 1.36%. It has a moisture content of 55.81% and higher calorific value of 5161. 91 kJ/kg, lower calorific value 3249.72 kJ/kg. The carbon share of initial waste, i.e., 60.4% of biogenic origin. The proportion of unoxidized and largely recyclable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin components): Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. Overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. The degradability of the waste fractions: Paper: 27%; Mixed cardboard: 32%. 4% plastics: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as beverage cartons: 18%; composite products, like diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; the capture and utilization of landfill gas generates 1.58E-04 kWh of electricity and 5.69E-01 MJ of useful heat.
