The dataset represents the waste management activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. Recommended use of this dataset: for the average municipal/public waste mix. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, or cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in the Eighth Division of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region are as follows: food waste 76%, paper 2.4%, rubber 5.4%, textile (fiber) 4.2%, wood/bamboo 2.5%, ash/soil 0%, brick/tile/ceramics 6.4%, glass 2.4%, metal 0%. 8%, and other categories 0%. Moisture 47%, higher heating value 4148.64 kJ/kg, lower heating value 2183.4 kJ/kg. The carbon share from the initial waste, that is, the biogenic share 60.4%. Unoxidized and largely recoverable metal content in the waste (excluding very small or very thin components): Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. Total degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. Biodegradability of the waste fraction: Paper: 27%; Mixed cardboard: 32%. 4% plastics: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as drink cartons: 18%; composite goods, like diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization generate 8.68E-05 kWh of electricity and 3.12E-01 MJ of useful heat.
