The dataset represents the waste disposal activities of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset is for the average municipal/public waste mixture. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, or cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Ningdong Energy Chemical Industry Park, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, are as follows: food waste 35.7%, paper 2.1%, rubber 4.1%, textile (fiber) 1.2%, wood/bamboo 1.7%, ash soil 0%, bricks/tiles/ceramics 45.7%, glass 0.4%, metal 0.2%, and others 8.9%. Moisture content is 55% 81%, higher heating value 4907.39 kJ/kg, lower heating value 3368.45 kJ/kg. The carbon fraction of the initial waste, i.e., from biogenic sources is 60.4%. The proportion of unoxidized and largely recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin components) is: Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. The overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. The degradability of the waste fraction composed of: Paper: 27%; Mixed cardboard: 32%. 4% plastic: 1%; laminates: 18%; laminate packaging, such as beverage cartons: 18%; composite products, like diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization generate 2.76E-05 kWh of electricity and 9.93E-02 MJ of useful heat.
