The dataset represents the waste management activities of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. Recommended use of this dataset: for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, cardboard. The characteristics of urban solid waste in Yantai City, Shandong Province are as follows: kitchen waste 42.96%, paper 16.44%, rubber 20.9%, textile (fiber) 5.09%, wood and bamboo 2.84%, ash and soil 7.96%, bricks and tiles ceramics 0%, glass 3.67%, metals 0.14%, others 0%. Moisture content 51% 41%, Higher Heating Value (HHV) 7756.36 kJ/kg, Lower Heating Value (LHV) 5864.34 kJ/kg. The carbon share from the initial waste, i.e., 60.4% biogenic origin. The proportion of unoxidized and recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin components): Iron: 60.03%; Aluminum: 17.81%; Copper: 72.83%. Total degradation rate of waste over 100 years: 18.73%. Degradability of the waste components: Paper: 27%; Mixed cardboard: 32. 4% plastic: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as beverage cartons: 18%; composite goods, such as diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization generates 1.85E-04 kWh of electricity and 6.68E-01 MJ of useful heat.
