The dataset represents the waste treatment activity of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset is for the average municipal/public waste mixture. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste such as plastics, paper, or cardboard. The characteristics of municipal solid waste in Dazhou City, Sichuan Province, are as follows: food waste 50.09%, paper 15.54%, rubber 12.63%, textile (fiber) 2.34%, wood and bamboo 7.78%, ash and soil 0.32%, bricks and tiles and ceramics 1.42%, glass 0.09%, metals 0.8%, and others 0%. Moisture content is 64% 86%, higher heating value 5930.68 kJ/kg, lower heating value 4117.5 kJ/kg. The carbon share from the initial waste, i.e., biogenic, is 60.4%. The proportion of unoxidized and largely recoverable metal in the waste (excluding extremely small or extremely thin parts) is iron: 60.03%; aluminum: 17.81%; copper: 72.83%. The overall degradation rate of waste in 100 years: 18.73%. Degradability of the waste fraction: paper: 27%; mixed cardboard: 32. 4% plastic: 1%; laminate materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as beverage cartons: 18%; composite products, such as diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization generates 2.09E-04 kWh of electricity and 7.51E-01 MJ of useful heat.
