The dataset represents the waste treatment activities of \"municipal solid waste\" in a sanitary landfill. The recommended use of this dataset is for average municipal/public waste mixtures. It is not suitable to represent any single specific waste, such as plastics, paper, or cardboard. The characteristics of the municipal solid waste in Hami City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region are as follows: food waste 76%, paper 2.4%, rubber 5.4%, textile (fiber) 4.2%, wood and bamboo 2.5%, ash soil 0%, brick, tile, and ceramics 6.4%, glass 2.4%, metal 0.8%, and others 0%. Moisture content is 47%, and higher calorific value of 4148. 64 kJ/kg, lower calorific value 2183.4 kJ/kg. The carbon fraction of the initial waste from biomass sources is 60.4%. The proportion of non-oxidized and largely recoverable metals in the waste (excluding very small or very thin parts) is: iron: 60.03%; aluminum: 17.81%; copper: 72.83%. The overall degradation rate of waste over 100 years is 18.73%. The degradability of waste components are as follows: paper: 27%; mixed corrugated cardboard: 32%. 4% plastic: 1%; laminated materials: 18%; laminated packaging, such as beverage cartons: 18%; composite goods, such as diapers: 18%; glass: 0%; textiles: 12%; minerals: 0%; natural products: 27%; compostable materials: 27%; inert metals: 10%; volatile metals: 0%; batteries: 0%; electronics: 0%; landfill gas capture and utilization produce 8.68E-05 kWh of electricity and 3.12E-01 MJ of useful heat.
